  精品习作

  1,Dear editor,

In the past my hometown used to be a beautiful place. Thick trees and green grass could be seen everywhere. In order to build houses and grow more crops, people cut down more and more trees. As time went on, the whole forest was almost destroyed. Gradually, the green hills have changed into wasteland. As a result, sandstorm struck us now and then, from which we suffered a lot. So, I do hope all the people should realize the terrible result of not caring about our environment. What’s more, we should take good care of the forests and plant more trees instead of cutting them down so as to improve our living conditions.

  Yours,

  2,Dear Mrs Green,

I am the shop-assistant of Department Store on Zhongshan Road where you often do shopping. The other day when you came to buy a pair of cloth shoes, I regretted that I wasn’t able to find them in our store then. Now we’ve got a lot of such shoes. They are of high quality and of the latest design. Perhaps they are the very things you want, I think. Would you please come and choose some you like?

  Yours truly,

  3,Dear Peter,

It’s May Day today and we have the day off. I’m going to tell you something in China.

In our country cars are driven on the left side of the road, but here on the right side. Many people of London go to work by car, while most people of Beijing go to work by bike. The climate of Beijing is better than ours, which is fine for long. But London has so many cloudy days. Workers in Beijing work five days a week just as in London. Students here work hard at their lessons and a lot of people can speak English. It’s a pity that students in our county don’t make full use of time and very few know Chinese.

That’s all for today. Please write to me.

  Yours lovely,

  Susan

  4,Dear editor,

The giant panda is a rare animal in China, and also one of the rare animals in the world. It is loved by both the Chinese and the people of the world.

The home of the giant panda is in mountains. It lives on a certain kind of bamboo. As more and more bamboo has been cut off, it is becoming more and more difficult for giant pandas to find food for themselves. The lovely rare animal is dying out.

We hope that people who care for wild animals will lend us a hand to help save the giant panda, so that this kind of lovely rare animals will live with mankind for ever.

  Yours,

  5,Dear Mr Smith,

I’d like to introduce my friend to you, Mr Li Ming, who is going to apply for a position with your firm. He graduated from college three years ago and since then he has worked as a lawyer. He is good at English and knows some Japanese. He works hard and is careful in everything he does. He is honest, kind and easy to get on with. He was born on July 11, 1974 in Jinan City, Shangdong Province, China and his telephone number is 0531-6778014. He shows great interest in your firm. If he is accepted, he will do his best. I’m sure he will be fit for the position.

  Hope for an early reply.

  Yours faithfully,

  Wang Ping

  6,Dear Wang Peng,

I’ve been getting along well these days. I spent most of my spare time learning Chinese. I’m very pleased to have received your invitation and I’m glad to accept it.

I shall be ready to go there by the first bus next Saturday morning. As I am a perfect stranger to the place, I hope you would meet me at the bus-stop at about eight o’clock.

My father has just brought me a video camera from America. I should like to bring it with me so that we can take in some beautiful views.

It’s my pleasure to have such a chance to spend a few days at your uncle’s. If possible, I’d like to stay there for a week.

  Looking forward to seeing you.

  Yours truly,

  Tom
